Marine museum
lies just on Van Son, Do Son Resort 1, about 22 km away from Hai
Phong center. The museum was founded in 1960 and is now a part of
Viet Nam Oceanographic Institute. In 1987 its section of marine
sample displaying was built on an area of 6,000 m2, right on resort
1 of Do Son beach.
Hai Phong marine museum has 2 major showrooms, one is at NO 246 Da
Nang road where more than 23,000 samples of marine organisms and
non-marine organisms are systematically preserved for scientific
studying. The other is the displaying house in Do Son where typical
samples of sea natural resources and environment are kept for
exhibition.
There are various special ones displayed here. Since 1995, this
place has been opened and it has attracted numerous tourists who
come here to get information on culture or science of sea resources
and environment. Visiting Hai Phong Sea Museum, tourists will be
provided with the diversity of ecosystem, habitats of marine
organisms and especially the sea life in various of ecosystems which
are typical for tropical seas. |
