Francophiles can finally rejoice. Located in the centre of
HCMC, near Ben Thanh Market, the recently opened Cochinchine
serves gourmet food and wines imported from France.
The
shop is a stylish blend of atraditional French style house and
classic, black and red furniture and colorful interiors, including
intermittedly dotted red lanterns. From the menu, the high-quality
sandwich selection, (medium size, VND 25,000 - 35,000) features
Bayonne Ham, Pate Chasseur, smoked salmon, or Roquefort-filled
sandwiches, there's also toasted sandwiches and quiches. A tasty
salad selection includes goat cheese or smoked duck breast salad
(VND 15,000 - 50,000), or opt for the fresh cheese platters. From
the mouth-watering deli food counter, those missing their French
cheeses can stock up from the broad selection on offer, which
includes Camembert, Gruyere, Boursin, etc. There's also the finest
coldcuts and frais selection. Don't forget to take home some of
the impressive 40 kinds of quality French wines. Bottles sell from
$8.73 - 26.56 from the Bordeaux, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Loire
Valley, Alsace, Provence regions and for that special occasion,
there's a range of champagne and sparkling wines. Now you have no
