The Garden Restaurant lies alongside the swimming pool at the
Novotel Garden Plaza Saigon. The prominence of glass gives the
open-plan area a conservatory look (along with the potted plants);
sunshine streaming in and the bright, modern decor gives it a
light, airy feel. The menu here is breathtakingly extensive, you
can enjoy food from across the globe, so there's no excuse for not
finding what takes your fancy. And it's a good opportunity to
experiment with new types of cuisine. You can enjoy a diverse
range of foods, such as Italian pastas and create your own pizzas
($4.00 - 10.00), a Southeast Asian Flavour selection, featuring
Malaysian kway teaw phad thai and Indonesian nasi goreng and a
Japanese Corner, featuring katsudon set ($7.00). Or perhaps try
the On The Hot Plate selection, featuring succulent Australian
imported beef (rib-eye, tenderloin, etc) and New Zealand lamb rack
($11.50 -14.50).There are also other popular international
dishes, such as stuffed chicken breast with mild mushrooms ($7),
or salmon Florentine ($12.50). Naturally, Vietnamese favourites
feature, such as sautéed river prawns with tamarind sauce ($6.00),
or braised butterfish in clay pot ($5.00). If this isn't enough,
as the obviously busy Chef Le Cong Thanh points out, the Garden
Restaurant also offers daily specials, plus food promotions. "The
Tastes of the world" buffet lunch ($8.50++) with daily changing
menu, runs from 11.50am -2pm, Monday to Sunday and a daily buffet
dinner ($14.00++) with over 50 dishes to choose from starts at
6pm. During this month, for example, you'll have the chance to
taste Vietnamese and Italian Delights, as well as steam boat and
BBQ promotions, whereby guests can take fresh raw meat or seafood
and have a choice of cooking by the side of their table with a BBQ
hot plate, or have it steamboat style on the table with Tom Yam or
Chinese herb stock. The smells and tastes are truly mouthwatering. |
