Now is the time to try out (or retry) Mogambo's for Mexican food.
The new Western chef, trained in Texas, dishes up absolutely
scrupmtious Mexican, with a gourmet twist. Everything possible is
made from scratch, from the homemade burritos, to the tortillas,
salsa, guacamole and con queso sauces (made with real cheese, oh
joy!).
Dinners range from VND 70,000 - 95,000 and come in huge
portions. The meats are detectable: try the Chicken Fajitas
(chicken slow-marinated in a beer sauce), the Mexican Bean and
Beef Soup (hand-pulled beef marinated in tequila, and the tastiest
this side of Baja, California), or the Beef Tacos (hand-pulled
beef, marinated in wine). If you feel the need to order something
other than these Mexican Epicurean delights (just the thought
makes the American reviewers wince), Mogambo's have a truly
extensive menu from all corners of the globe. The staggeringly
eclectic choices include:Cajun specialities, pasta (VND 60,000
- 70,000) and well-loved dishes, such as fish and chips (VND
75,000), beef stroganoff (VND 85,000), chicken curry (VND 80,000),
meat pies and hot dogs. Their specialty though is beef, imported
from Australia or the U.S: burgers (VND 65,000 - 90,000)) use 100%
pure ground US beef, and succulent T-Bone, sirloin, ribeye and
peppersteak dishes start from VND 240,000. Seems you don't have to
leave HCMC to travel the world. |
